Favorite Zoo Pics - Polar Bear

Our Beloved Polar Bear Died recently due to Kidney Failure. These pictures were taken in March, but we were there just 2 days before he died. He was always so friendly. Often he would make "rounds" in his pool, swimming from one window to the next, as shown above. He would come right up to the window where Jeffery is, smile and go to the far window, swim underwater to the window shown below, go to the upper window where Jeffery was, pause, smile and swim back. The last time we were there, it was a Monday and we were the only ones at the exhibt and we watched him for quite a while. I layed on my stomach and watched him swim underwater. He will truly be missed and he was the kids - Jeffery especially - favorite.

We let the kids play for a while. We went up to the zoo for Memorial Day with the Mechum family. I feel bad that this is about all of the pictures we took. I ment to get some with the kids together.

Cute little lion cubs. I am bummed that they were in a cage encloure. They aren't displayed with their parents because the cubs cant get out of the moat. I think they are doing this so people will have to pay money for the good pictures. They sure are cute, though.

As you can tell, going to the zoo is one of my favorite things to do with my kids. Our zoo membership is well used and was a great investment.

These pictures were taken yesterday. Nathan has actually been sick with a fever and I thought getting out our new pool would be refreshing way to cool off.

Touch A Truck Event

The fire truck was one of the kid's favorite stops at the Touch the Truck Event held recently by the Mutual Girls Club. Nathan and Jeffery wouldn't sit for the picture, but you can see nathan's batman shoes and the top of Jeffery's head in the truck. Picture here is Marian, Caden and David.
